Dr. Heo Jun (1537/1539–1615) was the Court Physician of the Korean Joseon Dynasty.

THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a group of endogenous cannabinoid receptors found in the brain of mammals, as well as in the central and peripheral nervous systems. It also includes neuromodulatory lipids and related receptors. ECS, the "body's own cannabinoid system", is involved in various physiological processes, including the mediation of appetite, pain, well-being, remembrance, and psychoactive effects of the cannabis plant. ECS also plays a role in shaping euphoric post-sporting activity.
Two main types were identified for endocannabinoid receptors: CB1 in 1990 and CB2 in 1993. CB1 receptors are primarily found in the brain, nervous system, and peripheral organs and tissues. CB1 is the major molecular target of endocannabinoid ligands (receptor-related molecules), which are the anandamide and the associated mimetic (mimetic) phytocannabinoid, THC. Another major endocannabinoid is 2-Arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG), which is active for both cannabinoid receptors and the associated mimetic phytocannabinoid CBD. 2-AG and CBD play a role in the mechanisms of control of appetite, immune function, and pain.
